WELCOME
I wish to share some information about my experience and approach to clinical practice, which may assist you in your decision about whether to pursue either personal therapy with me, or for clinicians and leaders, hiring me for your consultation needs. I facilitate and support change that contributes to whole person well-being and integration in personal relationships as well as organizations.
Attending to the quality of our relationships, and its significant impact on human health and well-being, has been confirmed by science. My doctoral research and leadership work have extended my commitment to bring relational neuroscience to enhance healthcare workplaces and systems of care.
I have a private therapy practice in the Oceanside area on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia where I work with individuals, couples, and families who are either struggling with specific problems, or who wish to improve some aspect of their life. In addition, I work with people remotely from across British Columbia.
I also offer leadership coaching and organizational consulting based on research that recognizes and optimizes the primacy of mind, brain, and relationships in complex systems. This not only has implications for enhancing leaders’ capacity and practice, but brings rich possibilities for organizational transformation in a world that is increasingly demanding meaningful change.
I also work with healthcare providers such as professional counsellors, social workers, and nurses either individually or in groups for clinical consultation. These practitioners seek support in their clinical work, wishing to explore not only what they are doing, but also how to deepen their capacity for relational presence and engagement with those who come to them for assistance.
I SEEK TO FACILITATE PEOPLES’ DEVELOPMENT FOR GREATER CAPACITY TO BE MORE PRESENT AND AUTHENTIC IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITHIN THEMSELVES AND EACH OTHER.
I AM VERY HOPEFUL THAT CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
FOR ALL WHO ARE OPEN AND WILLING.
INSIGHTS FROM THE BLOG
Leader Vulnerability and the Autonomic Nervous System
Leaders can face a number of challenging situations that they are expected to respond to with skill. Yet, leaders are people too. Learning how to embrace vulnerability is a significant part of the leadership development journey.
Polyvagal Theory (PVT) for Leaders
Leaders regularly take on significant challenges and complex problems. At the same time, leaders are required to be responsive, supportive, and solution-focused. PVT is a resource for leaders, providing a framework for understanding their own responses and uncovers capacities for meaningful action.
Change is possible.
NOT JUST SUPERFICIAL CHANGE, BUT DEEP AND LASTING CHANGE.
